The Rise of eLearning Localization: Insights from DevLearn

From September 30 to October 2, the Interpro sales team attended DevLearn 2015 Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. While this was our first time attending DevLearn, it was amongst the several eLearning Guild Conferences that we exhibit at. The theme of DevLearn revolved around thinking forward and being innovative with learning.

At past eLearning shows, attendees express to us their desire to develop new ways to mold present eLearning programs for the dynamic learner. We were one of 118 total exhibitors at DevLearn and the show consisted of over 2,500 attendees including 175 speakers worldwide.

Global organizations are looking to find more efficient ways to track learning and train employees. Translating and localizing training accurately is becoming a greater need, and we are at the forefront of this birth with our eLearning localization services.

What used to involve global in-classroom training at scheduled times can now be done at the touch of a button on a mobile device.

Authoring platforms for eLearning have become more robust and it is essential that our eLearning localization services reflect the most popular authoring tools. We have made an active effort to promote our eLearning localization capabilities by attending various trade shows to engage with industry professionals.

eLearning localization services with Interpro

Interpro has been localizing eLearning since the mid-2000s for various organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to not-for-profits. We receive source files, translate, format, and provide back a fully functional course that is localized in the target languages. Oftentimes courses require multilingual studio voice-over recording which involves integration and synching into the localized course. The authoring tools eLearning developers use today have evolved since the early 2000s which has given great opportunity for us to evolve with them.

Within the past two years, we have exhibited at seven professional eLearning conferences and trade shows. In addition to exhibiting at eLearning trade shows, we are a member of the Chicagoland Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD). As members of the Chicagoland Chapter of ATD, we attend and sponsor local networking events and workshops that cover various training topics. Our ongoing involvement provides another opportunity to network with industry experts and stay current with eLearning trends.

Moving forward, we will continue to promote our eLearning localization capabilities with those looking to go multilingual with their courses and training materials.
