Languages:

English and Spanish.

How did you get into the translation services industry?

Actually, it came about by chance. I was looking for my first job here in the USA when I found an opening for an interpreter at a local interpreting company serving the Chicago area hospitals. I did that for a while until the owner of the company approached me with an interesting opportunity: to start their translation department. I enjoy challenges, so I said yes. Back then, I never thought this would become my career path!

If tomorrow you could speak another language fluently, which would it be?

I would choose Arabic. Spain’s strong ties to Arabic culture have always fascinated me, especially considering the many Arabic words that have become rooted in the Spanish language.

Favorite place traveled abroad:

Honestly, I don’t have a single favorite place. Every time I visit Spain to see my family, I use it as a base to explore a new area in Spain or another country in Europe. Discovering new places and cultures is my favorite part of travel.

Fun Fact:

I used to play soccer and coach my sons’ soccer teams.
